National Vocational Qualifications are for those wishing to achieve whilst in employment or training.  The qualification is gained through continuous assessment rather than examination.  Moorfield Riding Centre offers NVQ  Horse Care at Level 1 and 2.  The assessments are planned with the candidate and so progress is at the rate of the candidate rather than the assessor.  Assessment is on going with candidates gaining recognition of competency when tasks are performed consistently to standard over a period of time.  The assessments are with the centre's own staff with naturally occurring instances being used whenever possible.  Evidence of competency can be gathered fromm a variety of sources.

Studying for an NVQ qualification will get you on the equestrian career ladder.  Studying either of the NVQ qualifications we offer will allow you to progress on to a variety of other qualifications and pursue a wide variety of careers within the quine industry.

Animal behaviour courses
BHS Qualifications
Degree programmes including Equine Sports Performance, Equine studies, Equine Dports Psychology and Equine Business Management.

Yard management
Education
Research and Development
Nutrition
Animal Welfare organisations

You do not need any previous qualifications to study for NVQ Level One, just an interest in horses and the equine industry.
